With a lifelong passion for music at the core of my journey, DJing is something that has come to me with ease and I am dedicating myself to bring this energy to people and events around me.
My mission? To craft unforgettable beats for all occasions, whether it's a family gathering, community event, corporate function, or a club night.
What sets me apart is my passion, dedication, positive energy, high attention to detail, thoughtfulness, eagerness to serve people, and to keep going no matter how tough it gets.
Making people happy makes me happy!
Life is difficult for everyone and if because of me, someone is having a good day and when they feel like I have been able to curate music to their liking, and I see them enjoy their time freely forgetting all their worries for the evening, it brings me utmost joy! And I fall in LOVE with LIFE, a bit more every time!
I resonate with this skill as a service to people and way of giving, and feel like I have found my purpose. I’m extremely grateful to be able to do this! I couldn't be more thrilled - let’s experience the difference that great music and a positive vibrant spirit can bring to your event!!
I am Deepti Alampally. Then why DJ Anjna?
Well, my mom calls me Anjana and it’s a name that’s very dear to me and I feel very excited to be known as DJ “Anjna” by everyone!! (“Anjana” without the “a” in between ;))
mY Story
Music has always been my passion and my constant companion since I can remember. Whether I'm feeling ecstatic or a bit down, music is my go-to remedy. It has an incredible power to transform your day, elevate your connections, and stir up emotions you didn't even know you had. Not a single day goes by without music turning a good day into a great one or making a dull day much brighter. It's my ultimate mood enhancer!
When I moved to San Diego in 2017, I quickly realized there was a gap in the local music scene—specifically, a lack of Indian (Bollywood) music at events. It was disappointing that anyone wanting to enjoy a Bollywood night had to look to LA. One day, a good friend of mine casually suggested that instead of hunting for DJs in LA, I should become one, being local to San Diego and also organize events, which I was already doing through CRY (Child Rights & You). And the idea of becoming a DJ stuck with me.
Then, for my birthday last year, two of my friends gifted me a DJ controller - and that was the beginning of an exciting journey into the world of DJing! I started exploring, learning, and training myself, seizing every opportunity to play at events and parties.
During the second half of 2023, I was in my lowest of the low phases in my life due to some not-so-fortunate circumstances. But there was an inner guidance that drove me to push myself and pursue DJing with curiosity. I leaned on every little positive feedback from my dear ones and slowly but surely, I was able to turn the situation around to my benefit. And as days went by, I felt more confident to be able to invest a significant amount of time, get formally trained and also take the plunge to invest in the best quality equipment needed to setup a killer party with both music and lights. I have since then built and analyzed a 15000 song library, which continues to grow by the day and is my super-power at any party! ;)
Things started falling into place as I honed my skills and started working closely with clients, understanding their needs prior to the event, curating multiple playlists and selecting songs by reading the crowd’s mood. Everyone’s feedback, whether it was positive or negative, helped me tremendously.
Understanding the varied energy, type of events, moods of a party and matching it all with a perfect track from a huge library of songs is no easy feat, but it’s something I am naturally excelling at and I feel amazing!
There have been several struggles throughout as I try to establish myself and they continue to manifest in different ways even though I’m relatively new to this journey - and I don’t expect anything less from this path. Each challenge is a learning experience and that helps me grow and improve as a DJ and show up better in this world!
At the end of the day, I am grateful and thankful that I was able to recognize there was an inner voice and an innate driving force that I tended to and tapped into during my lowest phase. And almost magically, when I took that first step, the path started unfolding itself in front of me!
